It's been 11 years since this lecture was uploaded but still very relevant and helpful! Thank you for your help! On a side note: I wish more professors/instructors would consider uploading their lectures to youtube. Talking about it once and then expecting students to learn what they didn't retain in a textbook is such an outdated way to teach.

How can you say that it's okay to live with out spleen when that seems like a major part of our adaptive immunity. I can't understand why one believes we evolve with the organs we need and that cutting them out is no big deal. Just because you can survive without an organ doesn't mean you don't decrease your quality of life. It's puzzles me that most of the body parts we remove are within our immune system. I remember when they were removing tonsils like it was the latest fad and now we know better. I struggle with this approach to science. We should be much more cautious.

Great lecture, however at the end some mistakes start creeping in: 40:15 - the Serratus anterior originates on the ribs, and does not insert on the Humerus but on the Scapula; the muscle is used for shoulder protraction/abduction 41:18 - the Trapezius muscle is now generally talked about in three parts, not two: the upper or descending part; the middle or transverse part; and the lower or ascending part. The transverse trapezius among other things takes care of scapula retraction/adduction, pulling them straight towards the spine. An opposite of the Serratus anterior in this 42:04 - the Tricpes brachii does not originate on the Olecranon of the Ulna, but inserts there. It conversely originates on the Humerus and Clavicula. The terms are swapped with each other. 42:36 - he names the muscle Brachialis but points at and talks about the Brachioradialis 43:45 - he says "flexors" but means to say "extensors" 48:10 - the upper part of the picture seems correct, I could find no reference to the Gluteus minimus originating on the Sacrum; I think he is confused with the Piriformis which inserts pretty close to the insertion of the Gluteus minimus, but does originate from the Sacrum. However, the lower part of the muscle seems to be drawn wrong; the muscle inserts on the anterolateral aspect of the greater trochanter of the Femur (so the head of the Femur), instead of much lower on the Femur as shown in the picture where it could not fulfill its function 50:36 - contrary to what he says, that must be the Plantaris muscle 51:13 - "Foot extensors" should indeed be called "Foot dorsiflexors", his correction is a bit unclear 51:53 - instead of "dorsiflexors" he means to say "plantarflexors" All verified using university grade software 'Elsevier's Complete Anatomy' (it's awesome and has a free trial, check it out) and double checked on wikipedia and google image search

Thanks for the corrections. This was actually an experiment and wasn't really meant to stay on here, but so many people watch it I just left it up. It was my first ever lecture video and then I stopped teaching this class. There are lots of mistakes. Some, however, I learned that way. Not everyone agrees when it comes to science.

37:50 The abs actually inserts there at the ribs and xiphoid process, and originates at the crest of pubic. So the other way around Also 40:35 The serratus ant. doesnt attach to the humerus in any way Originates in the ribs Insert in scapula Triceps also the other way around Regardless this is awesome for a UA-cam video mate
